報道: 分散SNSでのMisskeyユーザー総数の2位到達

概要

「分散SNSの一覧統計サイトFediDBの新UIのβ版公開 | GNU social JP」で分散SNSの一覧統計サイトのFediDBの新UIを紹介しました。そのときに、Misskeyユーザー数が分散SNS (ActivityPub) のユーザー総数で3位でした。

その後、2位だったPeerTubeを超過してMisskeyのユーザー総数が2位に到達したとの続報があったので紹介します。

「FediDB – Developer Tools for ActivityPub」のソフトウェア別 (フォーク別) の一覧で確認できます。

Mastodonのユーザー数が730万人で、Misskeyが31万人、PeerTubeが30万人でした。

また、補足情報としてMisskeyのiOS/Androidアプリとして、MisRiricaを推奨していました。その他、Suji YanがiOSアプリとしてKimisを紹介していました。こちらは知りませんでした。

結論

分散SNS (ActivityPub) でのMisskeyのユーザー総数2位到達でした。

Mastodonのユーザー数が頭一つ抜けています。ここから1位のMastodonを超過するのは当分先になりそうなので、当分はマイクロブログ型の分散SNSのソフトはMastodonとMisskeyの2強が続くのかもしれません。なお、サーバー数や月間アクティブユーザー数だとPleromaのほうがMisskeyよりも多いので、Pleromaのほうが程よく分散していると取れるかもしれません。

世界の国々と同じで、ユーザー数・人口だけが全てではありません。ユーザー数が少なくても独自の特徴・文化があり、かけがえのない存在でそれぞれが尊重されるべきだと思います。現在はMastodonにユーザーが偏重しているので、ソフトウェアの違いをあまり意識せずに相互に交流できれば、分散SNSの理想に近づけるでしょう。
