概要

今回CTO就任の報道があったので紹介します。2023-10-11 Wedの以下の投稿で発表されていました。

He will be overseeing the technical direction for the project, overview the infrastructure, and streamline the contributing experience.

「Breathe new life into your stories | Notos」のアルバムサービスと同名の会社の共同創業者兼CTOとのことです。
今回、Mastodonコアチームメンバー&CTOに就任したようです。他に、mastodon.social mastodon.online oisaur.comの技術管理者を務めているとのことです。

今回の就任にあたって、本人から声明が出ていました。
I am happy to announce that I am now officially part of the Mastodon core team, as CTO of Mastodon gGmbH (the non-profit developing the project).

In this role, I will provide technical direction for the project, overview the infrastructure and streamline the contributing experience, as I have been doing since the start of the year.

今年に入ってから行っている、プロジェクトの技術的な方向性の提供、インフラの方向性、合理化などを指揮するようです。
なお、今のところ無給のボランティアポジションとのことです。Alex Gleasonが祝福していて今回の声明を認知しました。
結論
Mastodon gGmbHへのCTO就任でした。CTOといっても無給のボランティアです。無給、ボランティアで務まるような仕事なのか、無報酬で持続可能なのか私は大いに疑問です。
ただ、CTO就任に伴い、技術的な方針がしっかりしたものになるのかもしれません。就任の効果に期待したいです。
