今回はトレンド・ハッシュタグのオーストラリアでの試験実装です。2023-11-16 Thuの以下の投稿で発表されました (Meta’s Threads tests hashtags and trending topics, sort of – The Verge)。

以前予告のあったトレンド機能の一種で、トピック・ハッシュタグによる投稿の分類機能が、オーストラリア限定で実装されました。後日、他の国にも展開予定とのことです。
機能名の呼称が少々厄介です。単純なハッシュタグではなくて、あくまで投稿の分類機能のようです。見慣れた#の記号は使っていません。スパム汚染などになるので、ハッシュタグの対応は当初から慎重な姿勢でした。
投稿の分類機能が普及すれば、それがネットワーク内のトレンドを表すのに役立ちます。正式発表を待ちます。
