概要

Threadsの続報で、まとめて重要な報道があったので紹介します。時系列が逆になりますが、題名につけた通り、EU対応、ActivityPub対応のテスト開始、Webアプリの絵文字検索、ファクトチェック機能の予告です。この順番で紹介します。
特にEU対応とActivityPub対応のテスト開始が非常に重要な発表です。
EU
前回の記事で噂レベルで紹介しました。関係者からの公式発表がなかったのですが、2023-12-14 Thuの以下の投稿でEU対応が発表されました。

時系列としては、ActivityPub対応のテスト開始の後です。この順番は「記事: ThreadsとEU規制の理解で見えるMetaのActivityPub対応の思惑 | GNU social JP Web」で予想した通りです。ただし、Instagramのアカウントが不要になるという予想は外れました。
後者は今後なされるのかもしれません。「報道: Threadsの多数の機能更新のユーザー復帰によるMAU1.2億人のユーザー数拡大 | GNU social JP Web」にある通り、9月月間アクティブユーザー数1億人でした。EUに対応して、X/Twitterの5億人に迫るかもしれません。
ActivityPub
ActivityPub対応のテスト開始が2023-12-13 Wedの以下の投稿群で発表されました。

あとこちらでも言及が。Threadsユーザーをフォローできる機能から始めるけど、Threadsユーザーからもフォローできるようにする予定と。

ひとまず、テストでフォローのみ可能になったようです。投稿は流れてこないようです。

Mastodon著者のEugen Rochkoが歓迎の意を表明しました。また、Threadsの連合に際して、Threads発表当初のFAQ (公式: MetaのThreadsへのMastodon公式FAQ | GNU social JP Web) を再掲載していました。
「週報2023-12-1: TumblrのActivityPub対応保留、FlipboardのDot Social開始、事務所移転 | GNU social JP Web」でも議論した通り、分散SNSでも結局負荷に耐えられる巨大企業が支配的になる可能性はあります。
