概要

2023-11-01に終了・閉鎖するとの発表があったので紹介します (Twitterの元従業員が立ち上げたSNS「T2(Pebble)」がサービス開始から数か月で閉鎖に – GIGAZINE)。

Pebbleは2023-11-01 Wedに閉鎖します。他の競合もあり、Pebbleの完全な実現にはさらに多くの投資と時間が必要で、結局、投資家を納得させるほど急速な成長ができませんでした。
アカウント設定からデータのダウンロードが可能です。その他、我々の今後の動向に興味があって、つながりを維持したい場合、Googleフォームへの記入を案内していました。
TechCrunchの調べでは、T2の1日あたりのアクティブユーザー (DAU) は一時期3000人に達するも、T2からPebbleにブランド変更後、登録ユーザー数2万人でDAUは約1000人に減少していたそうです。2023年4月時点で1000人未満だったとの報告もあります (Twitterの元従業員が立ち上げたSNS「T2(Pebble)」がサービス開始から数か月で閉鎖に – GIGAZINE)。
X/Twitter代替市場は混沌としており、Mastodon/Blueskyの分散型、Spill/Spoutible/Postなどの小規模スタートアップ、Instagram ThreadsのMetaの新アプリなどあります。
Pebbleは10月の4週目まで定着率30 %に達しており、反復利用されています。最終的な成長促進要因ではなかったとしても、信頼、安全、節度を優先したアプローチは正しかったと信じています。「記事: Blueskyでの黒人差別騒動 | GNU social JP」のBlueskyでの騒動なようなものも一度も起きませんでした。
ただ、安全にしすぎてしまって、多少の意見の相違の十分な余地は残すべきだったかもしれません。さらに、最新ニュースが不十分で、会話が不足しています。他には、モバイルアプリの欠如、T2からPebbleへの改名も失敗の要因とのことです。
残った資金を投資家に返却して閉鎖します。期待通りの結果にはならなかったとしても、Pebbleの構築経験に後悔はないそうです。Pebbleから学んだことを活かして、新しいことに取り組むそうです。
