概要
「Twitter: 閲覧制限騒動/Blueのハイライトタブ・DM/新CEO Linda Yaccarino就任/Google Cloudの支払拒否 | GNU social JP」で紹介した通り、月末月初にTwitterの閲覧制限騒動がありました。
「報道: 世界初？Misskeyの地上波放送での登場 | GNU social JP」で影響があったように、Blueskyにもユー ザーが殺到して新規登録を停止したとの報道があったので記録目的で紹介します (Twitter 乗り換え先として注目されるSNS「Bluesky」がサーバー負荷爆増により新規ユーザー登録を一時停止、Twitter閲覧数制限に 伴う新規加入者続出が原因か – GIGAZINE)。

まず、2023-07-01に記録的なトラフィックの増加で、重くなり、新規登録を一時停止しました。「Bluesky Social Status」で稼働状況を確認できたそうです。その直後に、Popular with Friendsのフィードも一時的に無効になりました。
2023-07-03に復旧して、新規登録を再開しました。元々、招待制で自由に登録できるわけではなかったのですが、騒動を受けて余って いた招待コードの配布や、休眠アカウントの復帰で負荷が高まったようです。
結論
Bluesky Socialの新規登録一時停止でした。Bluesky Socialが開始してから、今回のような負荷を理由とした調整は初めてだったと思います。
Twitterのトレンドでも、MastodonやMisskeyを抑えて、Blueskyが一番話題だったように見え、注目度は高まって います。ただ、Bluesky Socialはまだプライベートβで連合は始まっていません。そのため、公式のBluesky Socialの1サーバーに集まるしかなく、分散SNSで期待される効果の負荷分散もありませんでした。
ActivityPubもATPも現状はユーザー数や人気の多いTwitterの動向に振り回されている点は同じです。どちらかがいつか振 り回されなくなる日が来るのでしょうか？その日を楽しみに待ちます。
なお、この騒動の最中にアプリの新しいバージョンが以下の投稿で告知されていたのでついでに紹介します。
